Door Hinges Replacement
Door Catch Adjustment
After installing new hinges, it would be necessary to adjust the door catch. Over ages hinges and door seals wear, resulting in slight or moderate difficulty in door closing.
Maybe the door catch has been adjusted sometime in the past but now that the hinges are new, the door catches should be adjusted from the beginning .
In order to reset the door catch, undo all three screws. Depending on the model year of the Alfa 33 the adjustment screws might be hex or cross headed. These three screws free up the clamp so that it can be adjusted accordingly and possibly more spacers may be needed to adjust the position of the door catch in the horizontal axis. This adjustment procedure is a trial and error process and even the slightest move can alter the way the door closes.
The necessary screws to adjust the door catch are the two countersink ones. The smaller one located on the bottom of the door catch is used to lock the door catch in place once the adjustment is completed.
